WHY REVIVAL TARRIES and WHEN WILL IT COME!!

“And all the people gathered themselves together as one man into the street…and they spoke unto Ezra, the scribe, to bring the Book of the Law of Moses, which the Lord had commanded to Israel” [Nehemiah 8:1]

The Lord’s people as a whole, stopped focusing on their many needs and interests to focus solely upon their Spiritual condition, as the Lord saw them. They demanded a clear and complete presentation of the Word of God, so that they might rebuild their lives, using the Bible as their Plumb Line. Rebuilding their nation and their economy was important, but rebuilding their relationship with the Lord was now the all important issue of the day.

It seems to me in these days of crisis, the Church remains focused upon the routine, (as important as much of it may seem to be) when we must, as a whole, set aside all other interests until we have full assurance from the Lord that we have adequately repented of our sins and wholly returned unto Him with all of our hearts.

This, business as usual, shows that we are not yet aware of how desperate the days are in which we live. The times are desperate but the Church is not. The Lord rarely intervenes and delivers His people from His Judgments until they are first, serious enough and desperate enough to set aside all else, until they have sought the Lord with all of their hearts, thoroughly repented of their sins, and totally aligned their lives and wills to the Word of God.

As the early Disciples Tarried before the Lord, “…ALL in ONE Accord in ONE place, (until) “… the day of Pentecost was fully come”, [ACTS 2:1] so must the Church today refuse to continue on as usual until once again we experience another Pentecostal Outpouring of the Holy Spirit, reviving the Church of the Living God!!

Wouldn’t it be a great day in America if the Lord’s people took to the streets, as they did in Nehemiah 8:1, and demanded the Man of God stand up in his Pulpit and Preach the WORD of GOD as it is, to them as they are. Surely a mighty, Nation Saving, Christ Glorifying Revival would soon follow.
